The ELKOMIKA Journal utilizes the GARUDA (Garba Rujukan Digital) platform—managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia—for archiving purposes.
The journal implements a distributed archiving system through participating libraries to create permanent archives for preservation and recovery. This archiving ensures that all published documents remain accessible through alternative channels if disruptions occur on the journal’s primary website that might otherwise make the articles inaccessible.
The ELKOMIKA Journal maintains complete, identical digital versions of every published article within secure, modern storage facilities. In accordance with current format standards, most files are stored in XML and PDF formats. Electronic information—including the journal’s website and manuscripts—is archived across two separate sources. Readers can access the content online via one server, while the second source holds a backup copy. If a server fails, the backup source can be activated, and the website is expected to be restored and accessible again within 24–72 hours.
The journal is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and security of its published content through electronic archiving. Digital copies of submitted manuscripts, peer-review reports, editorial decisions, and published articles are maintained in an organized electronic filing system to support efficient editorial management and record keeping.
The journal implements appropriate digital preservation practices to minimize the risk of data loss and ensure continued access to published articles. Electronic files are stored securely, with access granted only to authorized personnel in accordance with the journal’s policies and applicable data protection requirements.
To support long-term accessibility and publication continuity, the journal encourages the use of reliable digital archiving services and repositories, such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or other recognized institutional and digital preservation systems, where applicable.
Through these practices, the journal aims to maintain the integrity, authenticity, and availability of its scholarly content for authors, researchers, readers, and the wider academic community.
