Abstract

Sleep paralysis is a condition where we experience paralysis during sleep. The body becomes unable to move when it is sleeping or when it is about to wake up. Sleep paralysis is usually often followed by scary hallucinations or nightmares, this condition is sometimes called imperfect sleep because the sleep cycle is disrupted. In general, the spooky hallucinations themselves lead to the perception in society that these are caused by disturbances from spirits, not health conditions. Such information, of course, will be everywhere, without exception for children. Therefore part of the effort to educate children about sleep paralysis is through picture story books. Where the content presented must be in accordance with the character of the child reader. Therefore, consideration of visual storytelling in the book is an important part of being able to convey it in the right way to children.
