PEMANFAATAN WASTE STATION REKOSISTEM DALAM UPAYA PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH ANORGANIK DI LINGKUNGAN KERJA

Produksi sampah meningkat setiap hari. Di Tangerang Selatan, akumulasi sampah tahunan mencapai 369.177,50 ton pada 2023. Pengelolaan sampah sulit dilakukan sendiri, terutama dengan volume besar. Sebagai institusi pendidikan, Universitas Terbuka (UT) berkomitmen mengatasi masalah lingkungan melalui gerakan UT Go Green sejak 2010. Namun, sistem pengelolaan sampah anorganik di UT belum optimal. Dibutuhkan kerja sama dengan pihak eksternal, seperti Rekosistem. Penelitian ini bertujuan menjadikan UT pelopor dalam memanfaatkan waste station Rekosistem untuk mengelola sampah di lingkungan FKIP UT. Penelitian berlangsung selama tiga bulan, dari September hingga November 2024, dengan metode kuantitatif. Sampel yang dianalisis adalah sampah plastik anorganik, menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Pengelolaan sampah di FKIP UT dilakukan melalui pemilahan (sort), pengemasan (pack), dan pengiriman (drop). Sampah telah dikirimkan dua kali ke waste station Rekosistem yang berlokasi di Hero Supermarket, Lebak Bulus, dan Kemang, Jakarta Selatan, dengan total 5,1 kg. Jika dibandingkan dengan total sampah 10 hari, yaitu 58 kg, jumlah ini masih kecil. Namun, waste station Rekosistem terbukti membantu mengurangi sampah anorganik di lingkungan kerja.
