Dampak Penggunaan Kemasan Guna Ulang Terhadap Pengurangan Sampah Kemasan Sekali Pakai (Studi Kasus Konsumen Layanan Alner di Jakarta)
Sari

ABSTRACT
This study delves into the potential of using reusable packaging to mitigate packaging waste in Indonesia, focusing on the solution provided by a startup named Alner. Two participants were selected as case studies, and their consumption patterns were analyzed before and after employing Alner's reusable packaging system. The findings showed a significant reduction in packaging waste disposal, saving nearly 480 grams per month or 5.76 kilograms per year for each participant. On a broader scale, if 1% of the Indonesian population adopted this system, the total reduction in packaging waste could reach 15,552 tons annually. Moreover, the use of reusable packaging has the potential to decrease CO2 emissions by 70-80% compared to single-use packaging. In conclusion, the reusable packaging system, as applied by Alner, holds significant potential for reducing packaging waste generation and contributing to environmental preservation. Further support from the government, industry, and consumers, as well as additional research to overcome barriers and enhance the effectiveness of this system in the specific context of Indonesia, is necessary.
