Evaluasi Penerapan Vegetasi Biophilic pada Interior Rumah Sakit sebagai Pendukung Healing Environment.
Abstract
Hospitals are healthcare facilities with high levels of psychological stress, requiring environments that support the emotional well-being of users. One emerging approach in healthcare interior design is biophilic design, which incorporates vegetation as part of a healing environment. This study aims to evaluate the application of biophilic vegetation to hospital interiors as a support for a healing environment while maintaining the low-maintenance principle, in accordance with healthcare facility standards. The research method employed a qualitative approach with research through design, using field observations, literature studies, and the development of design simulations at Bhayangkara Hospital Class II Sartika Asih Bandung. The results indicate that the application of natural vegetation to hospital interiors can have a positive psychological impact, improve the visual quality of the space, and strengthen the perception of closeness to nature. The vegetation systems deemed most appropriate for hospital interiors include decorative vegetation, wall vegetation, and indoor gardens, with plants selected that are resistant to indoor conditions, easy to maintain, and meet the hygiene requirements of the space.
Keywords: biophilic design, healing environment, indoor vegetation, hospital, low maintenance.
