Development of a Web-Based KPI Visualization Dashboard for Lecturer Performance Monitoring at a Private Higher Education Institution

Silhi Silhi, Corry Caromawati

Abstract

Quality assurance units in private higher education institutions play a critical role in ensuring compliance with academic quality standards required for accreditation, which demands reliable and accurate lecturer data. However, the manual management of lecturer data often leads to inefficiencies and increases the risk of data inconsistency. This study aims to develop a web-based Key Performance Indicator (KPI) visualization dashboard to support internal monitoring and managerial decision-making. The system was developed using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework and the ApexCharts library to produce dynamic and interactive data visualizations, employing an Agile development approach. System development data were collected through observations and document studies of relevant academic indicators. Black-box testing was conducted in the final phase to validate system functionality against predefined specifications. The results indicate that the proposed system is capable of presenting KPI data in a structured, accurate, and up-to-date manner through KPI cards, interactive charts, and dynamic tables. By eliminating manual calculations, the system enhances accreditation monitoring and facilitates data-driven decision-making, thereby supporting more efficient and effective quality governance within higher education institutions.
