Peningkatan Employee Engagement Pegawai Perguruan Tinggi X

Abstract


ABSTRAK
Perguruan tinggi X merupakan salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (Institut) di Bandung. Dosen dan pegawai nonakademik merupakan bagian dari Institut yang memiliki peranan penting dalam pencapaian tujuan Institut. Tujuan tersebut akan tercapai apabila didukung produktivitas yang tinggi dari para dosen dan pegawai nonakademik. Penelitian diawali dengan melakukan pengukuran employee engagement berdasarkan Development Dimension International (DDI) dan National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST). Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 74 dosen tetap, serta 116 pegawai nonakademik di perguruan tinggi tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai tingkat engagement (skala 1-4) dosen adalah 2,85 dan untuk pegawai nonakademik adalah 2,79. Hal ini menunjukkan para dosen dan pegawai nonakademik belum mencapai tingkat engaged yang tinggi. Item employee engagement dengan nilai indeks terendah adalah mengenai perlakuan yang adil, pertanggungjawaban, dan umpan balik dari hasil pekerjaan. Usulan untuk peningkatan employee engagement terkait item-item tersebut adalah evaluasi sistem penilaian kinerja, penerapan sistem disiplin pegawai, serta pemberian reward untuk pegawai yang berprestasi.

ABSTRACT
University X is one of private universities in Bandung. Lecturers and non-academic employees are part of the Institute who have an important role in achieving the goals of the Institute. The objectives will be achieved if supported by high productivity of the faculty and non-academic employees. The study has been begun by measuring employee engagement based on Development Dimension International (DDI) and the National Institute of Standards Technology (NIST). The samples consisted of 74 lecturers and 116 non-academic staff. The results show the value of the level of engagement (scale 1-4) lecturer is 2.85 and for non-academic employees is 2.79. This shows that the lecturers and non-academic employees have not reached the high level of engaged. Employee engagement items with the lowest index value is about fair treatment, accountability, and feedback from the job. Proposal to increase employee engagement related to these items are the evaluation of the performance appraisal system, employee discipline system implementation, as well as the reward system for excellent employees.
